Rock My Wedding, part of the Rock My Ltd. group, which includes Rock My Family and Rock My Style, is the UK’s leading influential brand in the wedding industry. The biggest wedding blog and planning resource in the UK, the Rock My Wedding website attracts 230k readers and has more than 1.3 million followers across social media.
A UK based company with global reach, Rock My wedding has helped couples all over the world plan a wedding day that rocks their world. We are happy to have helped with the recent website update, launching the brand new venue and supplier site, The List, to help make it even easier for engaged couples to plan their special day.
Rock My Ltd. approached us to help with the redesign of their website, with the main objective being to make it easier for site visitors to find all the information that they are looking for, without navigating away from the main site, thus increasing Rock My Wedding’s conversion rate.
Following initial discovery sessions, we agreed that as well as a full site redesign, one of the main elements of the project would be to improve the venues listing and search function, which would help to achieve the team’s objectives. So we focused all of our effort on this part of the website.

To achieve our main objective of making it easier for couples to find the perfect venue, and the right suppliers for their wedding, we re-imagined the venues list as a whole new website – the Love Lust List – listing both venues and suppliers, from caterers to wedding photography.
So that we could focus our attention on improving the search function, we first updated the homepage design for the listing area, simplifying it so that the landing page shows featured content highlighted with beautiful wedding imagery. We added an easy to navigate menu bar, so that couples looking for ideas and inspiration can quickly find everything they need, from bridal fashion to planning tips.
On the new site, we developed custom filters on the search results page, integrated with Algolia autocomplete, via the Algolia API. This helps couples to quickly refine their search to find exactly what they are looking for out of a large number of results. We also improved the search engine so that people can search for venues and suppliers by region, with the nearest, or nationwide suppliers offered if there are no results in the chosen region.
To further improve the venues search, we added even more filters including capacity, location, whether they offer accommodation and more, including whether they are licensed for marriage or have a church onsite. Each listing offers further details including photos, more detailed capacity information, a map and the ability to enquire direct via the website using a contact form.
The result is a visually engaging, easy to navigate website that helps people to quickly find what they are looking for, keeping all the focus on planning their special day.
