Library Labs: How to build a website 1

Written by Tom Greenwood - February 21, 2012

Tonight we will be introducing small business owners to the benefits of WordPress.  As part of the Library Lab series of events at Willesden Library in London, this is the first of two sessions for complete beginners.

We will be talking about why a website might be important for your business, what to think about when creating a website, and why WordPress is the perfect platform for small businesses.

We’ll then be giving a live demonstration of how to setup a new WordPress site for FREE using WordPress.com, with a tutorial on all the key features of the WordPress site editor to familiarise beginners with how WordPress works.

We will also be showing some examples of websites at the other end of the spectrum that have taken WordPress to amazing levels of design and functionality and are used by some of the world’s best known organisations and individuals.

Tom and Casper from Wholegrain will be on hand to answer any questions that you have.

The session is from 6-8pm at Willesden Library, London and is a free event.  Please visit the Library Labs event brite page for details on how to sign up.

The next session will take place on 13th March at 6pm and will introduce the advantages of using a self-hosted WordPress site from WordPress.org. You can find details and reserve your place at http://www.eventbrite.co.uk/event/2950201131/eorg?ebtv=C
