Hands up if you love your morning cuppa!
Well, who doesn’t? And rightly so, because tea and coffee breaks are an essential part of your working day.
Taking a mid-morning coffee break, or a mid-afternoon one for that matter, is one of the best things you can do for your focus and productivity. The human brain wasn’t built for long, uninterrupted periods of concentration, and you don’t have to stretch far beyond your attention span before you start to become distracted and flick idly to your Facebook feed or reach to check your smartphone.
However, a short break from your desk to indulge in a cuppa and chat with your office buddies can do wonders for your wellbeing and your productivity. Your mind can take a breather, while the caffeine in your tea or coffee will stimulate your brain. Even non-caffeinated drinks do wonders to reenergise your creative juices.
And that’s not all. If you work in an office, taking a break with your colleagues gives team members some all-important bonding time, which is great for team spirit and helps to create a friendlier working environment.
Here at Wholegrain, we place an equal importance on the health and wellbeing of our team, as we do in creating beautiful, sustainable websites that are good for you.
So we love our coffee breaks.
When we feel in need of a pick-me-up we head out to our local, independent coffee shop, The Borough Barista. Not only to these guys make excellent coffee and offer a great selection of teas, they’ve added some wholesome juices and smoothies to their menus for those who fancy a more natural energy boost.
We thought it’d be fun to share our usual drinks order, both to highlight the range of drinks they offer and to give you a little more insight into what makes the Wholegrain office tick over so smoothly and what helps us when we need a little creative pick-me-up!
First up, the coffee drinkers…
Vineeta reaches for a soya flat white to boost her brainpower, while Hans goes for a regular flat white. Luke takes an instant hit with a powerful espresso and Wazid’s drink of choice is an almond milk latte.
Amina sips a peppermint tea, great for clearing your mind and boosting your digestive system, while Rachael and her sweet tooth opt for either a hot chocolate made with almond milk or regular milk with caramel sauce. Yumm!
Finally, David and Tom both love the Borough Barista juices, their favourite being beetroot, apple and ginger, which is packed full of wholesome goodness.
If you’re in the London area, pop into The Borough Barista to see what takes your fancy. You may even see us in there…
