Edward Charles Before and After

Written by Vineeta G - March 16, 2015

Wholegrain was commissioned last year to design and build a website for boutique commercial estate agency Edward Charles.

Below we have put together ‘Before and After’ website screenshots.

Homepage

Before the site looked dull and simple. It doesn’t have a catchy look and feel and therefore doesn’t engage you into any emotion or doesn’t make you feel like clicking on any specific item on the website.  It didn’t attract users. Therefore, a new design was implemented with a dual slider with several attractive backgrounds to catch the user’s attention. The slider 2 which is below the fold is a property carousel.

Properties Search Page

Previously, the properties search page was very “Old School”. Visitors would have to type the information manually. In the new design, it is much more convenient. It has made life easier for the user to browse through by clicking on the map to select the preferred location.

Individual property page

On property page, google maps are provided in the new design which is very useful to a lot of people. It also has a beautiful lightbox effect to go through all property images. However, the thumbnails are large enough that you don’t feel inclined to go through the lightbox effect. All items are in front of you and you don’t need to navigate away for crucial information.

Blog/News

Instead of media and stuff, it has now moved to blogs. Which are more organized compared to the previous design. It also has strategy behind it and attractive photographs as thumbnails to grab user’s attention.
